You can also watch videos of interviews with Tommy Carruthers, Jeet Kune Do, and the different ways people conceptualize JKD, and the evolution it has undergone since Bruce Lee’s time.

You can learn Jeet Kune Do at home but don’t expect to reach a good level of mastery. However, you can start learning at home and you’ll be able to learn some cool moves.

But nothing can replace a good training partner.

When you have a partner at home, the practice will be easier and more effective. However, I also know that not everyone has this kind of luxury.

So when practicing at home, focus on the basics such as flexibility, strength, and agility training. Learn basic techniques.

But do not forget to warm up and stretch.

Over time, you’ll see improvements even if you are only studying at home.

Is it hard to learn Jeet Kune Do?

Jeet Kune Do is not hard to learn because it emphasizes ease of use and effectiveness. That means, there are no meaningless and flashy moves in Jeet Kune Do. This makes it easy to learn compared to other martial arts. However, since JKD is a combination of multiple martial arts, it will take years to master JKD.

Basically, Jeet Kune Do is a theory in fighting that emphasizes ease of use, fairness, and effectiveness.

That’s why you won’t see flashy moves in Jeet Kune Do.

Because of this, it is not hard to learn Jeet Kune Do.

However, it takes a lot of practice to learn JKD because it is a combination of multiple martial arts.

Jeet Kune Do is a combination technique that is prepared to unify the standards of boxing and fencing and includes ingredients from jiu-jitsu, muay Thai and kickboxing.

But if you are dedicated and practice consistently you can surely master Jeet Kune Do.

The reason is that Jeet Kune Do is fun to learn.

Take or buy a simple punching bag for your home. If you can’t a cheap shopping bag works.

Then get a pair of gloves to start training.

Boxing

Western boxing or boxing is a different amazing martial art and the great martial art for knowing at home too.

Plus, the gyms are likely near you.

Boxing halls are much more common in the world than muay Thai.

Despite being a well-known and professional Olympic sport, boxing is accessible in every country in the world.

But like Muay Thai, you can learn this at home and it is relatively easier because it only focuses on hand combat.

Krav Maga

Krav Maga is a mixture of boxing, judo, wrestling, and wrestling training.

It is a martial art like Jeet Kune Do that focuses on effectivity so I think it deserves to be part of this list.
